Sunday Blessings (SB) was established in 2018 by three members of the CGFH committee: Laurie McLeod, Audrey van Ryn and Danielle LeGallais. SB was the successor to Helping Hands Devonport, which had been providing meals on a Sunday night outside the central library for several years. SB took over Sunday meals when Helping Hands closed down, and then added in a Tuesday evening meal, until another group was available to provide a Tuesday service. SB now serves meals outside the Ellen Melville Centre in High Street on Sunday evenings, usually in conjunction with Orange Sky and often with Common (previously Koha Apparel). SB has associations with many other groups as well and has been responsible for many more initiatives in addition to a meal service. In June 2024, SB was able to purchase a Nissan e-van, thanks to grants from Auckland Council and Woolworths. The van is pictured below.
